New members
Thank you for considering joining our Club. We hope that it is the start of a long and enjoyable journey with Chewton Archers and the wider archery community.
Joining our Club provides you with the following benefits:
- Affiliation with Archery Australia and Archery Victoria, which provides you with
- insurance cover while shooting archery at any affiliated Club in Australia,
- the technical and social support that membership of Australia’s target archery community offers, and
- pathways to competing at Club, State, National and International tournaments.
- Seven-day access to Chewton Archers’ club facilities.
- Access to the Club shooting equipment for a small hire charge, until you purchase your own equipment.
- Access to Club coaching and technical support.
- Access to our social and supportive Club culture.
Membership requirements
Anyone from 8 years can join our Club provided you meet the membership requirements, which are:
- You have completed a beginners course at our Club or another Club affiliated with Archery Australia; or
- You have archery experience and your archery skill has been assessed as suitable by one of our Club coaches. Contact our Club to make an appointment; or
- You are transferring from another Archery Australia affiliated Club.
How to join
Once you have completed a beginners course you may join Chewton Archers via the Archery Australia website.
If you are coming from one of the other pathways to membership, please contact the club before joining online. Your membership application is promptly considered by the Club Committee, and you are advised of the outcome of your application.
Still not sure?
If you meet the requirements for membership but are not sure about joining, you are welcome to come and shoot with us on Club days (Sundays between 9 am and 1 pm). You will need to register as a temporary member on the day (cost $10 plus $5 equipment hire, if required) and are allowed to do this for a maximum of four sessions in a year.

*When renewing membership or joining via the Archery Australia website a small booking fee is added.
Range fees
Club range fees are payable in addition to the annual membership fee. These fees contribute to upkeep of the Club’s facilities, including replacement of target butts, target faces and ground/building maintenance.

Equipment hire
You do not need to buy a bow immediately in order to continue shooting with us as a new member. The Club has a small number of suitable bows which it hires subject to availability, along with arrows and protective equipment:
